2013 Call for Proposals

Call for proposals for the 6th TD-Blue Met Children's Festival, April 2013, Montreal


Deadline: October 8, 2012

The TD-Blue Metropolis Children's Festival aims to showcase children's literature, writing and illustrating, The Festival is for children 12 years old and under. Authors, illustrators, creative workshop and literary show facilitators, this festival offers a unique opportunity to share pleasures of reading and writing with children in this age group.

Submit a proposal 
Are you a writer? Would you like to participate in the Festival?
Are you a publisher? Would you like to suggest some of your authors or launch a book at the Festival?
Are you an artistic organization? Would you like to propose an event or a partnership?

1. Please send us a complete file which includes:

a copy of the author's latest book

mention of languages spoken by the author

press clippings (digital version preferred)

a photograph of the author

a short bio mentioning any prizes received

a list of published works, including any in translation

the completed proposal form

Please note that we give priority to authors who's latest book is being published between May 2011 and March 2012, i.e. which will be available for the Festival. We are particularly interested in authors who are launching books in the spring.

3. Selection process:

The selection of launches, authors and other Festival events remains the prerogative of Blue Metropolis Foundation.

We will choose from the submitted proposals and inform you by mid-December if your proposal has been retained.*

You will then receive a contract or an official invitation to formalize the agreement. For more details about this agreement, click here.

Incomplete proposals or those received after the deadline will not be considered. Please note that materials sent to us cannot be returned.


* Considering the number of proposals which we receive every year, we are unfortunately not able to answer everybody. Only successful applicants will be contacted.

TD-Blue Met Children's Festival

Through meetings with authors and illustrators, creative workshops and literary shows, this festival offers a unique opportunity for children 12 years old and under and their families to experience the pleasures of reading and writing. Event take place in English and French, across Montreal, during the Blue Met Literary Festival.
